REGISTRATION: You may register for the conference by filling out the accompanying registration form and mailing the form, along with a check (for the appropriate amount, including any extra fee for guests to the lunches or banquet) to VHIA, P.O. Box 317, Woodbridge, VA, 22191

MEALS:

AWARDS BANQUET:

DRESS: The VHIA requests that proper attire (no jeans, T-shirts, etc.) be worn during the Symposium lectures. Coat and tie for men, and appropriate business attire for women, is required for opening ceremonies, and for the Awards Banquet

CASE PRESENTATIONS: An important part of the conference is the sharing of information pertaining to on-going homicide investigations and closed homicide cases. We encourage those who will be attending the conference to consider presenting an on-going homicide investigation or a closed homicide case. If you intend to do so please contact Dave Watson at 703-361-8442 or 1-877-361-8442 for scheduling.

HANDOUTS FROM ATTENDEES: Anyone attending the conference is encouraged to bring handouts pertaining to unsolved homicide investigations; unidentified bodies; wanted persons, etc. It is expected that there will be approximately 200 attendees at the conference. Please make copies accordingly. The sharing of information in a forum such as this generates ideas and possible leads.

IDENTIFICATION BADGES: Due to the sharing of sensitive information attendees to the conference will be required to wear a photo identification badge during all VHIA functions, including the hospitality room. This identification badge will be supplied by the VHIA. Proper identification will be requested upon checking in at the conference.

IN-SERVICE CREDIT: As in years past, the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services will be contacted for In-Service credit for Virginia law enforcement personnel for this training. Morning and afternoon sign in logs will be present. You are responsible for signing in during each segment to get credit.

HOSPITALITY ROOM: A hospitality room will be open on Sunday and Monday evenings and on Tuesday evening prior to and after the banquet.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS:

VENDORS: As in the past, a room will be set aside for vendors. We encourage you to visit their displays.

For further information pertaining to the conference, please contact Dave Watson via email at VHIA1@aol.com or Rich Leonard via email at rleonard@co.stafford.va.us or via telephone at 540-658-4488.
